How to draw a simple heart
Our first heart is a classic heart drawing. This is a simple, straight lines version, often used as a heart icon, which makes for a perfect first heart shape to learn to draw.
If you draw it large, it can be the main picture on your Fathers’s Day card, or you can use small, simple hearts to decorate the card.
How to draw a nice curved heart
Here is another way to draw a heart. We will simply curve the pointed end of the heart slightly. Another simple trick is to slightly overlap the starting circles to make the heart shape pop out into 3D.
It is not much harder than the simple heart, but we like this shape much more. It looks interesting on its own, if you want just one nice big love heart as a central Fathers’s Day drawing on your card.
How to draw a heart with a banner
Here is an even better idea for a Fathers’s Day card: Combine the curved heart drawing with a banner that runs across it, and add your short message there.
Simply use the wavy banner from our “how to draw a banner” tutorial. Play with different placements, but running the banner across the heart slightly at an angle seems to work the best, as it nicely matches the shape of the curved love heart skewed to the side.
